Weigh In Day!

Obviously this isn't me, but a picture of myself just wouldn't be as impressive. Today was my first monthly weigh in at Curves and I was a little nervous. Nobody wants to work their butt off and then not lose a single thing. However, I was really happy about my results. There's no way I'm going to post my weight on here, but I can report that I lost 6 pounds, 5 inches (overall), and I lost a record number of 8.5% body fat.

It was funny when the girl was checking my body % fat, because she kept saying that can't be right and kept making me do it over. Then when she remembered I just had had a baby 2 1/2 months ago, she realized that it could be possible. That's the bonus of just having had a baby. You start dropping these big numbers because you are still carrying baby weight. I'm gonna celebrate non-the-less. I think Curves is really working and I love that I can get out 3 times a week and beat my frustrations out on the machines.

They actually just got a new system that tracks your progress on each machine and then after your workout you can go to the computer and see how many calories you burned, what percent was burned in each muscle group, how hard you worked on each muscle group etc. Then if you pass your target, it makes it harder on each machine. It's so great to see your progress after working hard. Plus I love that I can burn 520 calories in 30 minutes of work. I think I've definitely become converted to the Curves workout. Alas, I still have much work to do, but for now I'm going to celebrate with some junk food!

Logan-2 Month Checkup

Today was Logan's two month checkup, and I was so excited to see his growth curve. He weighed almost 13 pounds (2 ounces shy) which put him in the 72% for weight, and he was 23.5 inches tall, putting him in the 65% for height. His head was 15.2 inches, so he was only in the 16% for head circumference. So he's fat, tall, and has a small head.

I was so excited because both Hyrum and Ella didn't pass the 2% in weight until they were 2 years old. All my babies have had pretty small heads though (a plus in delivery!) I've always wanted a chunky baby (I just didn't want to give birth to one).

So, the doctor said he looks healthy and I think he's doing pretty darn good considering he was three weeks early. Logan's definitely got some chipmunk cheeks which just makes him all the more kissable.

Fourth of July

When I was a kid, I remember my parents always having a neighborhood Fourth of July BBQ, so we decided that even though we don't live in Boise, we would keep the tradition alive. We invited a couple of families from our ward over, and had so much fun! So much fun that we didn't take a single picture :( Oh well.

We just bought a bunch of stuff for hamburgers and hotdogs and some drinks and then everyone else brought side dishes. The kids had fun playing in our little kid pools, throwing water balloons, and squirting water guns. Later on we made homemade ice cream and the kids had ice cream cones. We had to eat the ice cream inside though, because the wind really started to pick up. Fortunately, it died down enough that we could go outside again and light off fire works in our neighbors backyard, and watch the Stadium of Fire fire works across the street at the park.

Overall it was the perfect day for a BBQ. It was nice and overcast, which we really appreciated when we were sitting outside watching the parade that morning. The kids all played really nice together and Ben and I always enjoy any reason to throw a party. It looks like this will be a fun tradition to continue.
